Lawyers in this group assist participants in all aspects of oil and gas exploration, development and production, offshore and onshore, and natural resource development including mining and forestry, throughout Atlantic Canada. Work includes all regulatory aspects including important issues of rights management, mineral leases, joint ventures and other development agreements; royalty structures; environmental assessment and compliance, construction, and labour and employment related matters such as health and safety and workers’ compensation; economic rent and resource taxation and the interrelationship of maritime law and offshore oil and gas operations. The firm has acted as counsel to project owners or financing parties in most of the major natural resource development projects, onshore and offshore, in Atlantic Canada.
