Important Recruitment Dates

Here are the important dates for law students at the University of New Brunswick to remember:

• Career Fair – Thursday, October 30, 2008. Look for representatives from all the Stewart McKelvey offices at our information booth.

• Deadline to submit application to Career Services Office – Thursday, January 8, 2009.

• Interviews with representatives from offices in St. John’s and Charlottetown – Friday, January 23, 2009.

• Interviews with representatives from offices in Halifax, Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton – Friday, January 23, 2009 and Saturday, January 24, 2009.

• Second interviews for selected candidates at relevant offices will be scheduled following first interviews.

• Offers made to successful applicants for Halifax positions – Friday, February 6, 2009.  Offers made to successful applicants in other offices may be made before or after this date.

Here are the important dates for law students at Dalhousie University to remember:

• Information Session – Friday, November 14, 2008. Look for representatives from all the Stewart McKelvey offices at our information booth.

• Recruiting reception at the Halifax office of Stewart McKelvey – Thursday, January 15, 2009.

• Deadlines to submit applications to Career Development Office: 

    - For St. John’s and Charlottetown offices – January 9, 2009 

    - For Halifax, Saint John, Fredericton and Moncton offices –
      January 16,  2009

• Interviews with representatives from offices in St. John’s and Charlottetown – Saturday, January 24, 2009.

• Interviews with representatives from offices in Halifax, Saint John, Fredericton and Moncton – Saturday, January 31, 2009.

• Second interviews for selected candidates at relevant offices will be scheduled following the first interviews.

• Offers made to successful applicants for Halifax positions – Friday, February 6, 2009.  Offers made to successful applicants in other offices may be made before or after this date.

Here are the important dates for law students at Université de Moncton to remember:
 
• Deadline to submit applications through your law school career placement office for Summer Student 2009 and Articled Clerk 2010 positions in all offices – Friday, January 9, 2009.

• On campus interviews – January 14 – 16, 2009.

• Second interviews for selected candidates at relevant offices will be scheduled following the first interviews.

• Offers made to successful applicants for Halifax positions – Friday, February 6, 2009. Offers made to successful applicants in other offices may be made before or after this date.

Here are the important dates for law students in Ontario and Quebec to remember:

• Deadline to submit applications through your law school career placement office for Summer Student 2009 and Articled Clerk 2010 positions in all offices – check with your on-campus coordinator.  Stewart McKelvey has been promised the applications by Friday, October 24, 2008.

• Interviews for selected applicants being held in Toronto as part of the East Coast Employers Recruitment Event – Thursday, November 13, 2008.

• Second interviews for selected candidates at relevant offices will be scheduled following first interviews.

• Offers made to successful applicants for Halifax positions – Friday, February 6, 2009.  Offers made to successful applicants in other offices may be made before or after this date.

Include a cover letter; resume; transcripts from your undergraduate degree(s) and law school; and, the names of references or reference letters. Indicate which office to which you are applying and whether you are applying for a position as a summer student or as an articled clerk. You will be contacted if chosen for an interview. First interviews will take place in person or over the telephone at a mutually convenient time. Second interviews for selected candidates at relevant offices will be scheduled following the first interviews. Offers will be made to successful applicants for Halifax positions on Friday, February 6, 2009. Offers made to successful applicants in other offices may be made before or after this date.
