Nova Scotia Provincial Election – June 13, 2006 – Time off to Vote
A provincial election has been called for Tuesday, June 13, 2006. Polls are open in Nova Scotia from 8:00 a.m until 7:00 p.m. Advance poll dates are June 9 and June 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Special poll dates are June 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7, 2006 from 12 noon to 8:00 p.m. Individuals may also register to vote by a special mail-in ballot available at Elections Nova Scotia: http://www.electionsnovascotia.ns.ca/absentandadvance.asp.
To ensure that qualified electors vote, the Nova Scotia Elections Act sets out obligations for employers.
